Rally for Allen West and All FL Conservative Republican Candidates

Lt. Col. (RET) Allen West poses with my brother Ralph after an event in Deerfield Beach, Florida in August, 2009.

Spent a good portion of yesterday and today rallying with other like-minded patriots in Boca Raton, at the corner of Glades and  St. Andrews, by the Town Center Mall. It’s always comforting, reassuring and uplifting to spend time  among grassroots Americans who love their God, country and constitution, even more so now that we’re less than 48 hours away from the most consequential midterm elections in modern history.

We got many approving honks and thumbs-up from passing  cars, though we were also subjected to the occasional angry liberal flipping the bird and shouting obscenities and epithets,  not just at us, but — quite shamefully — a true American war hero. Voting for Lt. Col. Allen  West was a great honor for me; I’ve met him on many occasions and have nothing but respect and admiration for his character, his distinguished Army career and his many accomplishments.

That know-nothing Obama zombies of all ages would spew such drive-by venom and vitriol toward West is hardly surprising, though no less outrageous. After all, his incumbent Democrat  opponent Ron Klein has based his entire re-election bid on mudslinging and character assassination.  As previously noted, when you have a 98% pro-Obama/Pelosi voting record, the last thing you want to do is run on your record of support for odious and unpopular legislation like Obamacare, Cap and Trade and stimulus.

Readers of my blog may be surprised to know I am also a “fu^%$ing redneck”. Well at least that’s what some guy who looked to be around my age yelled out to me from his Range Rover as he sped by. I’ll take it as a compliment — the redneck part, anyway. After all, if loving my freedom, country, national security and creator make me a redneck, I am guilty as charged.

Here’s the first video from yesterday’s gathering; I will upload the second one soon.

Go West, Rubio, Bondi, Scott/Carroll, Putnam and all great Florida conservative Republican candidates!

Update: Here’s a video from Sunday’s rally. Not sure why I am swaying from side to side during my interview, but it’s probably because  the wooden sign I am holding was very heavy!

Pray for Our Nation: The Economy

From the book Pray for Our Nation, published by Harrison House, p. 14:

Dear Father, in the name of the Lord Jesus, I pray for our economy. I know that even more than a strong military, a strong economy helps keep a nation powerful.

Father, I pray that You would raise up people of skill and wisdom who would affect the economy of our nation. Give them inspired ideas and a voice with the powers that be.

Cause Congress to vote aright in these matters. Give them foresight so that provision might be made for our nation’s future, not just its present.

Father, as the people of our nation continue to finance the preaching of the Gospel and help the poor all over the world, I pray that You would continue to prosper us more and more.

While we give praise to God, the supreme disposer of all  events, for  His interposition on our behalf, let us guard against the dangerous error of trusting in, or boasting of, an arm of flesh…

If your case is just, if your principles are pure, and your conduct is prudent, you need not fear the multitude of opposing hosts.

Pray for Our Nation: Patriotism

From the book, Pray for Our Nation from Harrison House publishers, p. 40:

Father, I pray in Jesus’ name that you would restore a social conscience to our nation.

I pray that we would again see the value of teaching our children the virtue of being good citizens — to not only live for the good of the individual but the good of others as well.

Dear Father, I desire to see our nation restored to godly integrity and excellence, so that our children and our citizens can be proud of their nation and proud to be called Americans.

In recognizing our duty to God and our country, keep us mindful to pray for our nation not only in our churches and our homes, but also in the quietness of our daily lives.

“Prayer covers the whole of man’s life. There is no thought, feeling, yearning, or desire however low, trifling, or vulgar we may deem it, which, if it affects our real interest and happiness, we may not lay before God. The whole  burden of the whole life of every man may be rolled onto God and not weary him, though it has wearied the man.”

Cloward-Piven Strategy Explained

If you are a hard-working, everyday American who loves your country, if you are also a registered Democrat, please ask yourself what exactly you have in common with these people. In case you haven’t yet realized the obvious, your party has been consumed by radicals, and the sooner you realize it, the better off we’ll all be. Yes, I’m talking to you, PA-12 and other “bitter clingers” across the fruited plain. A vote for a Democrat is a vote against America. Period. Please wake up. I don’t expect the overeducated, latte-sipping intellectuals to get it, but you damn well should.

Pray for Our Nation: National Protection

Back in 2003, when the Iraq War was just beginning, I came across a wonderful book in a Christian store called Pray for Our Nation, published by Harrison House in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A collection of thoughtful prayers written specifically for the USA, categories include Prayers for the Leaders of Our Nation, Prayers for the Social Welfare of Our Nation, Prayers for the Safety of Our Nation and Prayers for the Spiritual Growth of Our Nation.

With the midterms just 9 days away, I am finding  much comfort in reciting these beautiful prayers aloud. Action may be the anecdote for fear, but praying for the success of that action is vital. Everyday, I thank God I am an American citizen who had the privilege of being raised in a loving, stable, supportive home — one in which, among other things I was taught genuine love and appreciation for the United States of America and about God.

Today, I am posting the Prayer for National Protection, found on p. 48:

Most high God, I come to you in the name of Jesus, asking for divine protection for the people of this nation. I pray for the  safety of every man, woman and child. Keep us from harm’s way and provide protection from plans of destruction that our enemies have plotted. Stop strategies of destruction that our  enemies would try to evoke.

Give wisdom, understanding and discernment to those who provide protection. Help us to be watchful and alert to signs of wrongdoing. Provide insight to national  and local authorities on ways to guard,  defend and insure the safety of all American citizens, both at home and abroad. Help  us to unite with government leaders and law enforcement personnel in making this country a safe place to live, work and play; allowing Americans to enjoy freedom without fear.

“Our  prayer and God’s mercy are like two buckets in a well; while one ascends, the other descends.”

South Florida Supports Allen West!

After receiving a tip-off late last night on Facebook about Debbie Wasserman Shultz’s planned protest of Lt. Colonel Allen West’s candidacy today, I headed over to his campaign office in Deerfield Beach. Yes, the Debbie Wasserman Shultz who represents FL  Congressional District 20 and is herself running for re-election, took it upon herself to arrange an anti-West rally on the sidewalk alongside Federal Highway.

As West supporters, we were respectfully requested not to engage the Klein crew or the local media, lest a confrontation erupt that could potentially damage the campaign. Well aware of the left’s hateful demagoguery and deceitful tactics, I’d never planned to engage any of them in conversation — a losing proposition among people brandishing signs like “Keep Abortion Legal” and “Florida doesn’t want the Tea Party or Allen West”, anyway.

Clearly in the throes of desperation, the Klein campaign (and DNC operatives) have published Allen West’s social security number; aired ridiculous commercials using Tea Party footage of West declaring himself a “right wing extremist” (hello liberals, it’s called sarcasm, and it was done in reaction to Janet Napolitano’s DHS); made false allegations of West belonging to a radical biker gang and repeatedly (in the case of debates) linked his name with Sarah Palin and “Terri Schiavo issues” — all in an effort to paint him as some sort of Bible-thumping, wild-eyed Christian lunatic who is unfit for public office.

Today that theme continued with the pro-abortion placards and handmade signs claiming that West is somehow “anti-women”. Mind you, to the best of my knowledge, he hasn’t even made abortion an issue in the campaign (though he  is pro-life), but if you were a Klein supporter, would you really want to focus on your guy’s support for highly unpopular legislation like Obamacare, Cap and Trade and stimulus?

In their classic, diversionary and fear-mongering style, all the liberal sacred cows were on display this afternoon in Deerfield Beach  — along with plenty of Allen West supporters, who had a few thoughts of their own. Enjoy!

Update:  Apparently, Palm Beach County tax collector Anne Gannon joined Wasserman-Shultz in the 20-30 people protest. Here’s the Sun-Sentinel’s coverage.

Update: Here’s the second video, featuring a Democrat for West.
